I have a request. Is there any chance you would kindly identify a bee for me? Maybe by email? I thought maybe a honeybee, but it really has big eyes. My post will not be up until Sunday night, and I have been looking for a bee online that looks like my bee, but the closest in appearance is an African honeybee, and in no way is that even possible here in Niagara Falls. My post is this bee attacking a Carpenter Bee repeatedly.I never saw one so MEAN.
Thanks, but my bee has very long eyes and even looks mean. I know this is not a scientific description, but if you could check, maybe on Monday? I will put in your link for the ID. It maybe is just some ordinary bee, but looks different to me.
I don’t have your email, so mine is GWGTatroadrunner.com. I thought maybe you subscribed and I could not find it. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my bee. You will probably know it easily.
Hi standingoutinmyfield. Did you ever go hunting for the Lithurgus nests? We are within 20 miles of the first introduction site in NY and have located an aggregation of nests were are about to dissect. Are you anywhere in this area? Lots of folks would like to know.
Went hunting, but no success! I’ve seen them on flowers in my area, but haven’t found a nest. I’m stationed in PA. I’ll try again next year. There are a couple of places I have yet to search.
Awesome!
Thank you! You are so kind to me.
Hey, guess what! My sister’s wedding is in the Springs, and I am super excited to visit CO again. Two more weeks!
I hope our cooler weather holds for you! I’d suggest we get together for a cup of tea, but I’ll be in Montana on business.
Oh too bad! I think I will be fairly preoccupied with the wedding anyway…I am the maid of honour after all!
Very nice. I like your technique.
Thank you! I am flattered and surprised to even *have* a technique, haha!

It sounds like a drone! The males look dramatically different. Here’s a link: http://images50.fotki.com/v1527/photos/9/44329/7763311/BeeBooth16-vi.jpg

I would *love* to ID it for you, if I can. It’s very fun to ID things. You can send me an email if you like.

Bee-autiful drawings!
Thank you kindly!
