Woohoo, my blog turns one year old today!  Because I love statistics (and so does WordPress), I thought I’d do a one year review of my posting stats.

Posts and Categories Over the past year, I posted 260 blog entries, which means I missed approximately 105 days of blogging.  I have 54 posts in Galleries, 24 in Illustrations, 83 in Interesting Interactions, 51 in Nature Poems, a mere 7 in Recipes, 35 in Silly Fridays, and 113 in Stories.

Space I’ve used 57% of my available space (what will I do when I run out of space?!  stop blogging?).  I’ve posted 1,063 photos and drawings.

Views Details I’ve had 7,157 views all time, with 216 views on my busiest day.  I have 111 followers.  My all time most popular post (Home page/Archives aside) is Ant Nest Architecture: featuring molten aluminium, with 268 views.  My About page has 210 views.  Pure Beauty is a Euglossine Bee is in a lagging third place at only 103 views.  Other top posts include Sexual dimorphism and crypsis, The vegetarian spider, Apples to oranges: urban meadows, Achilles heel, and (Re)define sloth.

Fig 1. Views over time. The top line is the total number of page views per month and the bottom line is the average number of views per month (starting with September 2011 and ending with September 2012).

Global Representation Since WordPress started monitoring country stats, representatives from 88 countries have stopped by.  However, nearly 50% of the visitors are from the US, followed by 13% from the UK and 9%, 3% from Canada, and 2% from Australia.

Likes and Comments The post with the most “likes” is Uvita, Costa Rica (21), followed closely by, Take a Hike with me! (Pikes Peak edition) (20), but at 18 comments, Apples to Oranges has the most comments; it is matched only by Pure Beauty.  I don’t know how to find total “likes”, but it passed 1,000 some time last month.
