I am living in a pretty special place. One of its unique features is our local gourd artist! Pretty exceptional, in my opinion.
This is what the gourds look like when they are growing. Some of them are taller than I am (which is not a *huge* accomplishment, but it is not trivial either).
Piles of dried gourds in the workshop
A fungal infection gives an interesting an beautiful pattern to the gourd’s surface
These pinatas are almost too beautiful to destroy
There are cute little monsters hidden throughout the shop
The master herself, describing her process.
Some of the beautiful gourd lamps
They would look very nice for halloween too, I reckon
Gourds of all sorts.
