What’s blooming this week?

I’ve always had an unnatural* obsession with blooming phenology of plants (when they flower during the year).  But this year my obsession is especially bad because keeping track of plant phenology is no longer just a hobby…it’s my job!  Because I need to know when everything is flowering, I am constantly on the look out for blooming plants.  Due to the brutal winter, the phenology of the plants in this region is significantly delayed.  But this past week, things have started to bloom.  (And then today we got a snow storm, what can you do?)

Here’s what is blooming this week:

Cornus mas (Dogwood)
