Arbutus Lake

While working in the Adirondacks last weekend, I stayed in a cabin right off of Arbutus Lake.

IMG_5734The first night I arrived, I went for a run around the lake, slipping in shin deep mud, bounding over logs, stumbling over roots…it was great.
IMG_5736The second night, I kayaked across the lake on water as smooth as glass and as reflective as a mirror. Dragonflies and mayflies were balanced on the surface of the water, and the edges of the lake were filled with yellow water lilies.
