Snakefly photo shoot

Snakeflies are an awesome order (Raphidoptera) of insects that I have not had opportunity to encounter because they are not present in eastern North America.  I stumbled on one while camping in Stanislaus National Forest and was SO excited, guys.

  1. I like your “artsy fartsy” shot because you can see how delicate the wings are in silhouette like that. An interesting looking creature, that really dark head looks kind of like an after thought, or the head of something else grated onto that bronze body!
