Make like a tree and leave!

Some amazing colours in the orchards at the end of autumn…none of these photos do it justice.  But I wanted to try and capture some of the wide variation in colour of different species.

  1. Who knew honeysuckle would be so pretty in the fall? Now I know what those berries are! And that buckthorn tree, wow are those leaves red!! We have not got fall yet, but supposed to get some cold weather later this week. I’m hoping the trees will get the hint that summer’s over if the temperature goes down into the 30s. Though we may not get that cold here next to the water. My sexy maple tree is beginning to have a haze of yellow overcome it. And several of the oaks seem like they might be looking a bit . . . peaked. You have much prettier colors and so many more trees that actually shed their leaves! Your fall is the “real” fall, here we have “faux” fall !

    Thanks for the lovely photos!

    • Aww…thanks! Haha the thirties! That’s funny. We’ve already had snow and in fact it hailed on me on my run last week (hail hurts!). Those photos don’t do the colours justice! They’re beautiful. Trade offs I guess…

  2. Hail! Boy, you are brave to run when there is the possibility of hail! My son and I drove through a squall of hail one time . . . so scary! Loud and rattling, enough to make you want to cover your ears! I can’t imagine being outside in it, that would be even more scary! Hail can cause terrible injuries . . . hope you were lucky to escape that!
