Happy Pollinator Week!

This week has been dedicated to celebrating pollinators…it’s a celebration that was initiated and managed by the NAPPC (the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign).  According to the NAPPC’s website, “Pollinator Week has now grown to be an international celebration of the valuable ecosystem services provided by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and beetles.”  (To which I say, what about the pollinating geckos of Mauritius? Or the pollinating possums of Western Australia?!)

Here’s an interactive (US) map if you want to look for pollinator week activities in your area!

This week at SOIMF, I’m going to do something really unusual for me and talk about pollination!  (And maybe even BEES!)

Or maybe I’ll just talk about unusual kinds of pollination…
