Aside from the spectacular hummingbirds, there were also a lot of other bird species in the Sonoran Desert Museum’s walk-in aviary.
White-winged dove (Zenaida asiatica)
I don’t know what species of parrot this is…it doesn’t seem like a thick-billed parrot…
Gambel’s Quail (Callipepla gambelii)
Burrowing owls (Athene cunicularia)!!! I wanted to see these guys in the wild so badly, but alas…these guys were technically not in the walk-in aviary but I wanted to share.
I thought this was a pyrrhuloxia but alas…it’s just a cardinal.
A stellar Steller’s Jay! (Cyanocitta stelleri)
Inca Dove (Columbina inca)
Black-headed grosbeak (Pheucticus melanocephalus)
Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)
Great-tailed Grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus)
Curve-billed thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre)
