This is a hike I did in October, when the leaves were spectacular colours. Cowan’s Gap is a gorgeous little state park in southern Pennsylvania. It’s the kind of park that you feel nostalgic about immediately after leaving. Its history dates back to the French and Indian War, but it was clear cut a few times after that. The real restoration efforts began during the Great Depression.
A pretty little man made lake
The water is dark with leaf tannins…like tea
I like trees
Lots of fun trails to explore
I love beeches in the autumn…they look like candles
It’s hard to capture trail steepness, but some of the trails were fairly steep
I wonder if this fills up with water at certain times of year
Anybody like old cars?
Sun! I love the sun
