Boat ride

The second biological station we stayed at in Costa Rica (Campanario) can only be reached by a two hour boat ride from the rural Osa Peninsula. On the way out, I was too nervous to have my camera with me, but on the way back, I got braver…

It poured that morning, but by the time the boats pulled up, the rain was stopping.

The waves were huge during this one part of the ride…the boat hugs the coast pretty closely, but it was clear that there were some shallow rocks out beyond us where the waves were crashing.

Much of the boat ride is through the mangroves

I think this student wanted to see the mangroves upside down (it is the only explanation I can think of)
