Pretty little sweat bee

I’m pretty sure this is a male Halictus rubicundusLasioglossum calceatum…he’s on a greater willowherb flower (Epilobium hirsutum).

  1. I wondered if you meant ‘sweet bee’, but no – sweat bees exist… “the common name comes from their known attraction to perspiration”, says Wiki. But animals? Humans even? What an odd choice for a flower-loving creature… RH
